The three formats of cricket and how betting differs

The style of play differs in each format, and the betting markets change accordingly.

T20 — Fast-paced betting

In this 20-over format, the match can swing in moments. Fans bet the most on tournaments like BPL, IPL and the T20 World Cup. Because over rates change fast, live markets are especially active here.

ODI — 50-over strategy

One-day international matches call for both strategy and patience. Bangladesh Tigers matches in ICC tournaments get the most attention in this format. Since markets stay open until the innings break, bettors have more time to make their decisions.

Test — Betting on the long game

In this five-day format, a draw is a valid result, so three separate markets are available (Team A win, Team B win, draw). Changes in pitch and weather can shift the course of play. Long-term markets such as series winner are most commonly found here.

Football and other sports

Alongside cricket, football is hugely popular in Bangladesh. Interest in the World Cup and European leagues runs high. However, football matches have a fixed duration (90 minutes), fewer goals, and draws happen often — so the market structure is a bit different. In cricket, markets shift based on overs and wickets, while in football you see more markets like half-time score and corners. In other sports such as tennis or badminton, set-based betting is common.

Popular betting markets and examples

Which cricket markets are played the most at jaiya 9, and how each one works.

Match Winner

Which team will win the match — this is the most straightforward market. Say it is Team A vs Team B and you bet on Team B. If Team B wins, you get a return in proportion to your bet; if they lose, your entire stake is gone.

Toss Betting

A bet on which team will win the toss. This is a completely independent event — it has no connection to the match result. Odds for both teams are usually close because the chances are equal.

Top Batsman

Who will score the most runs within a team — in this market you pick one player from the team's squad. For example, if Team A's opener scores the most runs, picking them wins the bet.

Total Runs Over/Under

Whether the total runs in a match will be more (over) or less (under) than a given number — pitch and weather are important things to watch in this market. The batting strength of both teams also matters.

Multi Bet

Multiple selections from different matches are combined into one bet. If all selections are correct, all the odds multiply together for a larger return, but if even one is wrong, the entire bet is lost. A detailed example is in the odds section below.

First Wicket to Fall

At what score will the batting team's first wicket fall — the form of the openers and the bowling attack are especially relevant in this market. It is also active in live betting.

Betting Exchange Market

Here you can bet against other bettors. BACK means betting that Team A will win; LAY means betting that Team A will not win — these are two different roles, and the liability and gain for each are different.

How to read odds in three formats

Decimal, fractional and American — the same value written three different ways. Use the examples below to understand.

Format Team A Win (Example 1) Team B Win (Example 2)
Decimal 2.50 1.50
Fractional 3/2 1/2
American +150 -200
Return on a ৳1,000 bet ৳2,500 (৳1,500 profit + ৳1,000 stake) ৳1,500 (৳500 profit)

Multi Bet Example

Three selections — decimal 1.40, 1.60 and 1.70 — combined give a total odds of 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.70 = 3.81 (approximately). A ৳100 bet returns ৳381, but only if all three selections are correct. If any one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.

Betting Exchange Example (Decimal 1.80)

BACKing Team A at decimal 1.80 with a ৳1,000 bet — if Team A wins, ৳800 profit before commission; if they do not win, ৳1,000 is lost.
LAYing Team A means your liability against the bettor's ৳1,000 stake is ৳800 (৳1,000 × 0.80); if Team A does not win, you receive ৳1,000 before commission, and if they win, you pay ৳800.

Live Betting

In-play betting — odds change with wickets and overs

Betting while a match is in progress gives cricket a completely different dimension. Every time a wicket falls or a big over (with lots of runs) ends, odds change immediately.

  • The pace of the match becomes clear after the powerplay ends
  • When a wicket falls, odds for the batting team increase
  • When the run target comes close in the final 5 overs, odds drop quickly
  • A cash-out option is sometimes available in live markets
  • The difference between net run rate and run rate affects the odds

In live betting, decisions must be made fast, because a market can close in an instant.

jaiya 9 Cricket Betting Strategy and Tips

Practical tips for betting — entertainment is the goal

01

Set your budget first

Decide how much money you will play with before you start. Betting is for entertainment — if you lose, do not increase your stake.

02

Focus on one market

Rather than betting on many markets at once, pick one or two. Start with match winner or total runs.

03

Know the pitch and weather

On a pace-friendly pitch, odds for the batting team are usually higher. If rain reduces overs, total runs markets change.

04

Use multi bets with caution

Multi bets offer higher returns, but the risk is also higher. Even one wrong selection loses the entire bet.

05

Play responsibly

Betting is always meant to be enjoyable. For more on setting limits and responsible play, read our responsible gaming guide.

Play beyond cricket

Beyond cricket, jaiya 9 has many other types of games. Money Wheel is a popular live game where you can quickly bet on a spinning wheel — it is a great option during a cricket match break. It is a completely different style of gameplay that requires no knowledge of any team.

How the bonus works

A 100% bonus on your first deposit means you receive a bonus equal to the amount you deposit. Example: deposit ৳1,000 and you get a ৳1,000 bonus, giving a balance of ৳2,000. 10× wagering on the bonus means you must bet the bonus amount of ৳1,000 ten times — that is, once you have placed a total of ৳10,000 in bets, you can withdraw the bonus winnings.

Another example: deposit ৳20,200 and the bonus will be ৳10,000 (the maximum), your balance will be ৳30,200, and the wagering required is ৳1,00,000.

Cricket Betting FAQ

In T20, markets change quickly and there is a chance of big runs every over. In ODI, because innings are longer, partnership and middle-over markets are popular. In Test, a draw is a valid result, so there are three separate outcome markets. Total runs and top batsman odds are also calculated differently for each format.

Odds update immediately after every wicket, after a big boundary, and when the powerplay ends. When the run rate falls behind or moves ahead of the target, the odds shift accordingly. Live markets are sometimes temporarily suspended for a ball or a decision.

A minus sign in American odds means that team is the favourite. -200 means you need to bet 200 units to win 100 units. Example: if Team B's odds are -200, a ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,500 (৳500 profit) if Team B wins. A plus sign (+) means underdog — +150 means ৳150 profit on a ৳100 bet.

Being T20 format leagues, match winner, total runs over/under, and first six markets are most popular in BPL and IPL. In live betting, powerplay runs and last-over target markets are also active. With multi bets, you can bet across several matches at once.

If a match is completely cancelled, bets are generally refunded (voided). If the result is decided by the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method, bets are settled according to that result. Specific rules may vary by platform, so it is worth reading the terms before betting.
